J Shapes Limited is based in Raglan, New Zealand. All the design, testing and construction of our foils is done right here. Raglan is one the best playground in the world with constant wind and waves. We chose to live and work here for the quality of life and resources that are available in NZ. NZ is all about composites, foiling and surfing, so setting up a hydrofoil business here was a no brainer.

Julie Simsar and I (Antoine Jaubert) have been into water sports our whole lives: windsurfing, surfing, kitesurfing, waterskiing, etc… we have been involved in all aspects of the industry from being a team rider to having a store and kite school in Puerto Rico. This has been a passion for over 25 years and kitesurfing for 17 years already.

We have always been critical on the gear that we ride and understand that the right gear properly tune can make your riding more enjoyable and boost your performance. We set out to design and build a top quality foil and board made in NZ, using top materials and in a good work environment.
